I recently had the pleasure of capturing the love story of Kevin & Rebecca during their engagement session in the heart of Hoboken. The city’s blend of urban charm and historical architecture created the perfect backdrop for this special moment in their journey together.

We began the shoot in a charming cobblestone alley, where the rustic brick walls and vintage doors set a warm, intimate tone for the photos. Walking hand in hand, Kevin & Rebecca were effortlessly at ease with one another. Their natural chemistry was undeniable as they smiled, laughed, and enjoyed the quiet moments amidst the urban setting. The textures of the old brick and their modern style made for stunning contrasts, giving a timeless yet contemporary feel to the images.

From there, we moved to one of Hoboken’s iconic brownstone staircases. The elegant stonework added a touch of classic romance to the session. Whether they were sitting close, sharing sweet embraces, or exchanging loving glances, Kevin & Rebecca radiated pure joy. Their connection shone through in every shot, making it easy to capture the depth of their bond.

I bought this lens last year and so worth it, amazing lens! I would give it 5 out of 5 stars.

The Rokinon RF 85mm f/1.4 is hands-down my favorite lens. It makes portraits look buttery smooth with that wide-open f/1.4—bokeh for days! It gives photos that rich, dreamy vibe that just feels high-end, especially in low light. The only catch? The autofocus isn’t the fastest compared to Canon’s RF glass, but honestly, the sharpness and the price make up for it big time.

Now, here’s the part I both love and hate: it starts at 85mm. Which means, as much as I adore it, I don’t really bring it to events—it’s just not wide enough when you need to move quick. Still, for portraits, it’s a beast. And funny enough, Rokinon seems to have discontinued it, so I’m extra glad I grabbed one when I did. Basically, it’s my “secret weapon” lens that I wish I could use everywhere… but it’s just a little too zoomed in for running around at events.

It was a chilly, drizzly day near the Jersey Shore, but this couple’s love radiated warmth and joy that no storm could overshadow. As the waves crashed in the distance, they embraced the moment in a cozy beachside gazebo, turning an overcast sky into a perfect backdrop for their intimate proposal.

He got down on one knee, and despite the mist in the air, her smile lit up the scene as she said “Yes!” The wind tugged at their jackets, but the emotion between them was the real force at work—unshakable, unwavering.

Capturing this moment was a reminder that love knows no weather. Rain or shine, it's about the magic of the connection and the memories made along the way.

If you’re thinking about a beach proposal, remember that sometimes, it’s the unexpected that makes the moment even more special. After all, what's a little rain when your love story is about to begin?
